UWM's Planetarium Club is a free organization for UWM students that meets twice a month during the school year. Here, students and planetarium staff experiment with club equipment such as our HTC VIVE virtual reality headset, starball projector, Uniview, watch past shows and go stargazing. There are also great volunteering opportunities!
FALL 2018: Every other Thursday @ 4:00PM
Upcoming Meetings: November 1, November 15, November 29, December 6
This Halloween join the UWM Planetarium for a spooktacular series of favorite scary movies projected on the planetarium dome. Our feature presentations include Hocus Pocus, IT, and Event Horizon. All shows will be free for UWM students! Stickers available at the door!
Holiday Sing Along: Join the UWM Planetarium Club and add your voices to the UWM Collegium Musicum, directed by Tim Sterner Miller, as they perform some familiar (and some less familiar) seasonal music from the Middle Ages and Renaissance on period instruments. As part of our “Music Under the Stars” series, UWM Planetarium director Jean Creighton will provide a guided tour of stars and constellations in the winter sky. In this collaborative event, science and the arts meet in an informative and entertaining journey through time and space. Sunday, Dec. 16 2-3pm
The level at which you choose to be involved in the club is up to you, you may come to any or all of the meetings and participate however you feel suited.
To be a "registered" club member, you must be active in the club for at LEAST 5hrs/semester (this included meetings, volunteer hours, club organization, etc). Fully registered members will be allowed free admission to public planetarium programs.
We are always looking for volunteers and members to take initiative and take on a club role themselves to help organize the club and provide a leadership opportunity to members like you. If you are interested in a leadership role in the club, please see us at one of the previously mentioned meetings listed.
